EvoQuip, a brand of Terex Corp. that makes crushing and screening equipment, has introduced the Bison 170, the latest addition to its jaw crusher range.

The company says the Bison 170’s diesel-electric drive technology makes it a “smart choice for customers aiming to optimize their operations while meeting both economic and environmental goals.”

EvoQuip’s compact crusher is suitable for both natural rock and recycling applications, and on its tracked platform is designed for ease of use and maneuverability.

The Bison 170 diesel electric drive system includes an onboard generator used to power the plant. The machine also can also be plugged in and driven from an external power source such as mains power, which could provide for zero emissions processing.

When the diesel engine goes unused, it can enable customers to meet regulatory requirements and support their own sustainability goals, EvoQuip says, noting that noise pollution also is reduced, making the Bison 170 an “ideal machine for working in urban areas.”

The Bison 170’s electric drive can let customers run the tracked unit in reverse for asphalt recycling applications. As well, the machine includes an unblock/jog function designed to clear blockages.

A deflector plate, fitted as standard, provides belt protection by allowing uncrushable objects to pass through the crushing chamber safely and onto the discharge belt.

“We are delighted to add the Bison 170 to our jaw crushing range,” says Andrew Armstrong, product manager for EvoQuip. “With a potential output of up to 110 tons per hour and low fuel consumption, the Bison 170 is a high performing, environmentally friendly machine that aligns with the EvoQuip ‘Think Green, Think EvoQuip’ sustainability campaign.”

The Bison 170 is available for customers to order now through EvoQuip’s network of distributors.
